Following his stunning performance in his national open last week, the Thailand Open at Thai Country Club, Fenix XCell have moved to sign 19-year old amateur Natthaphat Harnchokechaiskul, nicknamed Tae.

Despite a strong field showing up to the prestigious event, just outside of Bangkok, Thailand, youngest Natthaphat Harnchokechaiskul showed maturity well beyond his years in making the final group on Sunday and holding his own to finish in a tie for 6th, beating some star names in the field such as fellow Fenix XCell ambassador Prom Meesawat, highly rated Thais Suradit Yongcharoenchai and Poom Saksansin, and Miguel Tabuena of the Philippines.

Tae started the tournament in style by finding himself alone at the top of the leaderboard after day 1 with a stunning round of 7-under-par 64. A 2nd round of 70 saw him joined at the top by Poom Pattaropong, which he then followed with a 3rd successive under par round whilst playing in the final group on Saturday alongside Prom Meesawat. Finally, a final round 71 was not enough to keep up the pace but his 6th place finish represents a landmark week for the talented youngster.

Tae will be looking to continue the strong push made by young Thai players, as an increasing amount are taking up high positions in the World Rankings, both amateur and professional, perhaps inspired by the success of Fenix XCell Brand Ambassador Kiradech Aphibarnrat.

We look forward to watching his progress over the coming years.
