While many courses around the world are still temporarily closed due to Covid-19, it is at least encouraging to see in recent days more courses start to re-open. Golf course management has started to pick up across the globe.
Golf is now being played in several countries including Germany, Austria, Denmark, Portugal, Slovenia, Dubai, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and over 75% of the courses in the US.
According to Paul Burley the Senior Vice President of IMG Golf Course Services, ‘With over 200 courses globally in the IMG Prestige club network, it’s positive to see over 60% of our courses are now open for play, with strict measures in place everywhere to ensure health and safety.’
Even in these difficult times, the likes of FORE Management Group (Thailand) and IMG (China) are also pleased to announce a fantastic new clubs to join their golf course management portfolio.
Most notably, IMG recently began their work with Imperial Springs located close to Guangzhou, is a magnificent 27-hole layout designed by Colin Montgomerie, that is part of one of the most impressive hotel, spa and real estate developments in China. We will keep you posted on their opening plans.
